This band was created by Sherif Al Maghraby, Majed El Fassi and Adham Sharkawy in 2004. They began as an acoustic trio and their first public performance was in the Dubai International Jazz Festival in 2005 in the Buzz Art Tent. The band's music is a fusion of rock, folk, oriental and blues. They say they are influenced by many greats like Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Rainbow, Nassir Shamma, Santana, Eric Clapton, Tracy Chapman, etc.
DAHAB Based in - Dubai Dahab "Spirit of Sinai" This band was created by Sherif Al Maghraby, Majed El Fassi and Adham Sharkawy in 2004. They began as an acoustic trio and their first public performance was in the Dubai International Jazz Festival in 2005 in the Buzz Art Tent. The band's music is a fusion of rock, folk, oriental and blues. They say they are influenced by many greats like Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Rainbow, Nassir Shamma, Santana, Eric Clapton, Tracy Chapman, etc. But the greatest inspiration for Dahab comes from Sinai: "We are inspired by Sinai - a magical and sacred land. We have all spent considerable time there and a lot of our songs were written there whilst on the beach contemplating the stars or in deep meditation in the desert. It is truly a beautiful place that helps one regain balance in their soul." Dahab are currently in sessions to finalized the tracks for our first album - planned for release in 2008. Sherif, Majed and Adham are also regulars on the Dubai Lime Open Mic, performing every Saturday evening.
